Do you want to understand how to protect your business from Cyber security threats? Then this course is for you.

In this course you will learn the fundamentals of cyber security in the context of industrial applications and will acquire a better understanding of various challenges and potential ways to overcome them. This course will provide an understanding of (1) the concepts and terminology, (2) the complex industrial systems ecosystem, roles of different stakeholders, and state-of-practice as provided by standards and actual industrial cybersecurity work, and (3) issues and methods essential for a deeper understanding of threats and their countermeasures, as well as of more specialised approaches and solutions. Basic concepts, definitions and taxonomy of dependable and secure computing (threat, vulnerability, risk, data integrity and availability, fault-tolerance) will be covered.

The course consists of a series of video lectures, exercises and supplementary reading materials. It will also feature 4 - 5 webinars (less than 2 hours).

The course features unique appearances of leading industrial cybersecurity experts.

YOU WILL LEARN TO

  • Describe the landscape of industrial cybersecurity, including main risks and protection
  • Show understanding of most relevant cybersecurity mechanisms.
  • Analyze the cybersecurity needs and risks in specific industrial contexts
  • Plan for appropriate countermeasures and mitigations.

PREREQUSITES
At least 180 ECTS credits where at least 90 ECTS credits are in the area of computer science related disciplines or equivalent (please note that you could be eligible by corresponding competence acquired in other ways such as industrial experience)
